What can I, a worthless animal and sinner, do for my love who’s mother is suffering from breast cancer? Everyone is suffering greatly, I feel powerless in this situation and I feel anything I will say will only add to their suffering. How can an aspiring gnostic student help them? I am praying deeply everyday to the Cosmic Mother and the Great Law to show her mercy. I am meditating on the mother with cancer to gain comprehension, but to no avail yet. :(

You can use a Tibetan practice called Tonglin, which means "giving and taking."

While in meditation, visualize some aspect of divinity (Christ, Divine Mother, etc), and pray for their help in this practice. Pray that it be done according to the will of God and in accordance with karma.

Visualize the suffering person, and visualize the presence of that divinity, who will facilitate the practice.

With each inhalation imagine taking from the suffering person their pain, illness, discomfort, sadness, fear, etc. and you take it all upon yourself.

With each exhalation, you give to them all of the good things that you have: happiness, joy, peace, serenity. Radiate light upon them.

Therefore, by the grace of divinity, you take the suffering of others upon yourself, and transform it.

There is no danger in this practice. It has been in use for centuries in Tibet and has been thoroughly investigated by the instructors here.

Alexis,

You stated there is no danger in this practice, but is this practice advised when we are already experiencing a great deal of suffering ourselves? For example, if a relationship with a partner we were deeply invested in with love and care has recently come to an end and we are struggling with feelings of confusion, uncertainty, pain, loss, etc. but we still feel love for our partner can we use this practice to help them heal even though we are both suffering? Can this serve as an antidote to heal from such an ordeal?

Thank you!

Yes, practices like this can help both people. Remember:

A superior law overrides an inferior law.

Compassion, altruism, love are superior forces that emerge from Christ. By working with those qualities, we can "override" negative emotions.
