From my understanding a man needs his wife, and know one else, in order to become Christ. I have read that Krishna, Buddha, and Muhammad were all Christ. This is where the confusion sets in. It is said that Krishna had thousands of wives, Muhammad had nine to thirteen wives, and I am not sure if Buddha even had a wife.

Anyway, I was hoping someone could clarify how this can be so.

Here is what Samael Aun Weor said about that:

The first woman that man knew in Eden is his twin soul.

The twin souls keep meeting each other, life after life. Together they came out of Eden and together they must return to Eden. When karma separates them, they suffer the inexpressible. True happiness in marriage can only be possible between two twin souls.

When the marriage does not take place with the twin soul, it is a karmic marriage and one suffers the inexpressible. - Samael Aun Weor, The Zodiacal Course

Here is what I was referring to, from Parsifal Unveiled:

The eternal lady, the Spiritual Soul (Buddhi), always demands from her knight all types of unbelievable prodigies of sacrifice and boldness...

She, the divine, perfect spouse, is Guinevere, the queen of the Jinn knights, the one who poured wine for Lancelot...

Cerberus, the guide dog, gratefully conduces the knight, who is capable of taking it from within the tortures of hell, along the path of the razor’s edge.

When emancipated, Cerberus, sunken within the atomic infernos of the human being, becomes the best guide for the Initiate.

He is a marvelous dog (sexual libido), pulling the oriental chain of the Adept who is in search of his beloved one…

Fortunate is the knight who after the difficult battle celebrates his betrothal with the queen of the Jinns…

It is written with golden letters in the book of life that the flame of Prajna (the Being) is burning within Buddhi, as within a fine and transparent glass of alabaster.

Adorable spirit-lady, eternal adorable spouse, ideal woman, Buddhic enchantment of love, receive me with gracious honor, as the serf, the slave that I am for you. I know, beloved of mine, that I am not worthy of you…

Yet, divine lady, I do not dare to ask anything of you, only that you may allow me to give you my obedient service, so that, with all that which is in me, I will serve you as a loyal vassal.

Behold…I am surrendering to you. Thus, with all of my eagerness and zealousness I deliver myself to your freewill entirely…!

The divine ones and humans know very well that the Lord of Perfection (the Theosophical Atman) has two souls, you and me…(Buddhi and Superior Manas, or Causal body).

The few who have become sages in the world do not ignore that you are my adored one and that I am your adorer…

Is it the light of the day that illuminates me or the remembrance of your presence? Wherever I place my sight the world seems to me filled with your image. Upon the sun’s beam, which vacillates in the water and plays amidst the leaves, I do not see anything but the resemblance of your eyes…

What is the consistency of this change that my Being has altered and that has made variable the aspect of the universe?

I will not search for any remedy for your trials. Thus, I submit myself to all trials that you impose upon me. I am subject to you…and you are my queen. I proclaim it in a loud voice and I glorify myself in it. Indeed, to die for you has to be the supreme joy.

Who said what? Do any of them know anything about the personal lives of the great masters? I sincerely doubt it. In any case, sometimes those stories are symbolic, sometimes they are not.

The main thing is to understand the path itself, which is accomplished only by paying our debts.

In order to reach the light, we have to pay our debts. Over the course of our lifetimes, we have accrued many debts with many people. Sometimes, it is necessary to pay the person directly, physically, in their presence, in accordance with the debt. That is why we tend to pass through so many circumstances, jobs, friends, scenarios, relationships........ etc. Of course, most of us face these circumstances with our consciousness asleep, so we react mechanically, and deepen the debt instead of paying it off by humbly accepting our suffering.

An initiate working with higher forces has to face deeper karma, thus has to face more painful circumstances. Sometimes, that involves being shamed, ridiculed, criticized, and worse. Sometimes it also means that an initiate has to pass through marriages, one after another, as dictated by debts that are owed. No one wants to face that, but most of us have such debts. However, to be at the level where one can handle paying them is another thing altogether.

On another note, you should understand that "the one spouse" we need is inside of us, not outside. Our true spouse is not physical, but is related to the development of the soul.

Would you agree that this description of soul-mates is accurate?:

"According to Theosophy, whose claims were modified by Edgar Cayce, God created androgynous souls—equally male and female. Later theories postulate that the souls split into separate genders, perhaps because they incurred karma while playing around on the Earth, or "separation from God." Over a number of reincarnations, each half seeks the other. When all karmic debt is purged, the two will fuse back together and return to the ultimate"
