When observing ourselves in daily life and encountering our defects is there a certain mantra, technique or anything else to avoid identification with the defect.
For example when I feel angry how can I separate my self from it and see it as a different I ? I used to be able to percieve my defects as different I's and create the separation but after committing many mistakes for a period of time this inner sense has athropied. Now I am easily identified. I may not indulge and yell at someone when I feel angry but it is superficial. How can I separate my self and protect my mind from the ego, especially without running away and ignoring it.
Meditate more. Meditation strengthens the consciousness and gives it the power it needs to see the defects for what they are.
