For the cure of epilepsy the book Esoteric Medicine advises burnt rind of bitter oranges.
1) Does it mean literal burning? To what degree? Or would drying of the rind be sufficient?

Moreover one can write a letter to the Masters of the Temple of Alden and ask for assistance. For that we need to saturate the letter with frankincense before burning it.
2) Is it advisable to additionally saturate the rind of bitter oranges and burn it as well, as a kind of offering? Or might that be insulting and/or useless?

Thank you :)

Burnt rinds are easy to make with a match, lighter, or stove. Some people dry them and then burn them.

I recommend following the recipe without modifying it.
