I find myself moving from european classical music to arabic to indian and to chinese, these types of music are defintely better than modern day music.
But is this alright?To listen to all these different types of music, yes they are good, but I feel different when listening to them and makes me feel like I am strengthening the dual personality the ego?
I mean I don't know, I'm hoping someone has felt this way, in order to understand what I mean.

Humanity even listens to classical music, but with ego. So? What matters is that we are conscious of the impressions we consume.
The spiritual concert is forbidden to ordinary people because of the continued maintenance of their egos. It is permissible for renunciates because of their pursuit of inner struggle. It is recommended for our companions (initiates), for the sake of the life of their hearts. —Abu Ali al-Daqqaq in Al-Risalah: Principles of Sufism by Al-Qushayri
