Dear Instructors,

I recently watched Mozart's opera Don Giovanni - what a tremendously powerful work of art! (By the way I found a wonderful recording from 1953 with exceptional stage setting, performers, conducting, etc. which is available online for free online - It's without subtitles but I found that reading the original and translated libretto before every scene works just fine - I'll put a link below)

So of course I'm eager to delve into the meaning of it all, and with some intuition I tried to work out what the different characters could symbolize. I don't have any concrete experiences in meditation or in dream yoga regarding this, so I could be wrong about it; This is why I wanted to ask if you could correct me if and where I am mistaken.

Il Commendatore: Chesed, The inner being, the spirit

Donna Anna: his daughter, Geburah/Buddhi, the divine soul

Don Ottavio: Tiphereth - Note: An interesting point in the opera is when Don Ottavio says to Donna Anna after the death of her father "Husband and Father I am for you" - Is there perhaps a significance here in regard to a particular point in the path of initiation?

Donna Elvira: The Essence

Don Giovanni: The totality of the ego

Leporello: His servant, the mind

Zerlina: Malkuth

Masetto: The personality

Given this interpretation of the characters the opera makes a lot of sense to me, but of course I could be wrong, so I would appreciate it very much if you could correct me.

Any further comments on the meaning are of course also much appreciated!

Thank you and may the peace and blessings of Christ be with you!
