Dear Instructors,

I have had allot off childhood traumas. Domestic violence from very young age for many years.

I have allot of tension in the body. I try meditation and I do pranayama. But I don't seem to book progress. Is there anything that I can do to heal the emotional damage so that the tension in the mind and body can be gone?

Yes.

1. Become skillful at meditation. Only by eliminating the roots causes of traumas can they be cured, and meditation is the only way that can be done. To learn about this, study the books.

2. Sacrifice for others who are suffering. I suggest you volunteer at a place that serves those who have suffered trauma, perhaps even like yours. BUT, this will only help if you are also meditating every day.

I practiced meditation and dream yoga for the use of comprehending my own childhood trauma for a good handful of sessions before getting legitimate, profound results. Alexis is right, serving others and remaining vigilant during the day bears noticeable results. I've personally received life changing answers by praying/mentally asking my questions repeatedly to my divine mother whilst in a drowsy or sleeping state. In a drowsy state, the answer tends to pop up instantly for a few seconds i.e. dreamy text. In my dream yoga sessions, my divine mother shows up in form and gives me beautifully simple and wise answers. She's always with you either way but, being specific can help. It's also amazing how even when you're not certain what you want to find out, she will provide you exactly the answer, the medicine you need. I found this out when my divine father showed up for the first time unexpectedly. It's like wow, how did I forget that I was struggling with insecurity and masculinity? I really needed his advice.
