At the page linked below Master Samael recounts a story of Eliphas Levi, where a patient was suffering illness as a result of witchcraft. Master Samael states that in such cases it is important to have a correct diagnosis of the cause of the disease before we can counteract the spell. In his story Eliphas Levi attempts to make the diagnosis by doing a magical ritual to summon an elemental spirit to investigate for him. Is it advisable to summon the elemental spirits in that way? I have not tried it before but I am tempted to, because the illness is severe, doctors have given up searching for the cause, and the sick person has a certain enemy who has threatened to use witchcraft to attack him.

Can you share any advice?

Correct diagnosis requires effective meditation skills and/or clairvoyance. Short of that, you can use simpler healing methods, such as conjurations, egg cleaning, sage or rue, etc. There is no danger in those techniques, thus you can use them as needed. They are explained in the same book.
