Grieving
Dear Teachers,
A friend just lost his son. He is now in a very deep grief. As far as I know, he is a Moslem, but not too devoted. He does not do 5 times daily prayer, or read the Noble Qur'an. He keeps asking why his son must die so young, and imagining how lonely his son is, now that he is no longer with family. I am with Buddhist tradition. I could only answer according to the teachings I got, such as reborn cycle, soul journey for higher consciousness level, etc. But I really feel this is inadequate, even disconnected, for him. What better thing I can do to help him in his grieving? I am worried he would fall into depression if he does not get in time spiritual help. Kindly enlighten, thanks.

Your compassion and friendship mean more than any words you could say. Sometimes all we need is to know that someone cares and is beside us.
More than that you can simply pray for him, and send him your compassion in your prayers.
