How do we help other people that are in a worse situation than we are? Isn't this the reason that Gnosis and religions exist, to be the light for people out of suffering? This morning I started thinking about this question(the first one). I fast way would be supporting GLORIAN, but now, while writing this, I see a longer one, the Golgotha, Calvary, the way of the Superhuman.

You can only help in relationship to your own condition. We have to know how to help ourselves, in an unselfish way, because this benefits others. We will stop inflicting pain on others, and we will be able to help those who appear in front our lives, day by day. But, generally speaking, we have little control over even our own life, let alone the life of someone else.

We have to do what we can. Donations, for example, to spread teachings that reduce suffering, is a very effective way of helping others.

Yes, that is why I donate and encourage others to do as well.

Generally I agree. I want to spread the teachings as well, that is what I meant.

We have to speak the truth always, at any cost, and no matter what

Dear KH,

You said - Helping ourselves in an unselfish way... because this benefits others....

I have been trying to help my condition at work. I was trying to be unselfish, leaving my cravings aside (as much as I can, but egos fight back strongly too, much harder than before). this is a real struggle, where not only I suffer, but I involve others. Instead of helping, I create more suffering. Yes, i have learned about myself, and probably helped others to know themselves a bit better too, but it's not always comfortable for people. their egos also fight back...

i think the problem is that some of my egos want to fix my other egos! I am lying to myself. My Innermost struggles to concentrate and find joy in the type of work I do. I am hardly doing any benefit to me, let alone to others. Just adding more suffering... I have lost the joy of life, sleep, and appetite, and am feeling trapped (because I want to be patient and be 'here and now', but I am failing). I pray, and beseech God and my Innermost all day long, to show me the way....

( how many times It is permitted to call God's name during the day, by the way? Is it good to call Him all the time.... ? )

I don't think we have to understand Samael aun Weor's words literally and in all circumstances (he was mentioning that when students start following Gnostic teachings they want to leave their jobs, spouses, friends etc. "Wreched people". Wreched ideeed !! ;) :( :D .). Yet, when your job is chopping off people's heads - would you still stay and 'do your job' ?

Dear Maia,

There are some people who tend to always be finding new jobs, living in new places, having new partners, friends, etc. There are some who seem to always make dramatic changes in the external world. That can be a way to avoid working on ourselves, and people can do this for decades if not their whole life, always avoiding their own mind.

Nevertheless, we should not be fanatics in the other regard either. Sometimes, we can and should find a new job. In fact, some people can actually be afraid of obtaining a better job because of fears of being in a new place, fear of talking to the boss, etc., etc., so they say that staying in their job despite its bad conditions is good for their spiritual work.

You can hide from your own mind whether you stay in your job, or you constantly change jobs. Only you can know that.

Having a new environment, with new impressions, new people, new routine, can help us get perspective on things if we know how to observe and meditate.

We have to find our Middle Way. Each of us has to make our own life and no one should go about telling others what to do. Yet, many times, it is better to try and reflect upon a mistake made, then to never do anything at all.

It is through our relationships we discover something about ourselves.

The most painful ones are the best instructors. When a student is in pain, there is no question about what is the right thing to do: comprehend the pain and eliminate the ego that suffers.

The Being has qualities of overflowing contentment, expansiveness, freedom...

How could one progress in the psychological work without clear notions of what is in pain? Often, a student thinks he or she is doing well but actually they are being superficial, and are self-hiding from their own pain and ugliness.

Pain, afflictions, and fear are qualities of ego. It is a lie to say the we "tried" but "lost patience" with someone. Actually, the ego never had patience in the first place. It just turns out that the mind could not hide from its own pain any longer, so some type of blowout or breakdown occurs. Then, finally, once again it becomes clear on what to meditate upon. Finally, the ego could not hide from itself.

How easy it is, once the obvious pain subsides for just a few moments, to forget to do the work.... Such circumstances are better for going deep into meditation, yet who takes advantage of it?

Some suffer the paralysis of enjoyment and some the paralysis of suffering....

Pain is not needed to walk the path, yet, pain is the result of karma that must be paid in order to progress. In other words, no one forced us to act in ways that created our karma, and therefore the pain was not dictated by any external thing. Yet, because we have karma for pain, we will have painful circumstances. We have to comprehend our circumstances without being identified with them.

Many thanks KH, how very kind of you.

You truly said: "You can hide from your own mind whether you stay in your job, or you constantly change jobs. Only you can know that".. Yes, indeed.

Likewise, you can kill your egos at whatever job you are !! I am telling to myself - If you don't enjoy your job, ask yourself a question why you have chosen this job in the first place? what has been keeping you there until now? Fear, (false) feeling of security, greed, anger ? What? And no matter how shameful it is for you to recognise your defects, maybe it is better for the humanity if you stay where you are and help yourself and those around you? Yet people around you don't seem to need or want your help (most of them like this job and are identified with and fascinated about it). It feels like an unrewarding task (helping people who don't want your help) and it's hard. But then, if you want to leave your profession, and start something new, you need néed to ask that same question - what is the driver of that - is it your pride, or defeatism, or lack of humility and love, what it is ? When you are conscious of your path, you will have the joy of life, no matter where you are.

You said the most painful ones are the best instructors. Indeed. Sometimes, you can be that painful instructor for someone else... Yet pain is not needed to walk the path. You need to transform your pain to joy, and learn how to be a good instructor without causing pain ...

So much yet to learn and master ...

I have started reading the Revolution of the Dialectic. A must read and constant re-read for all Gnostics students.
