Hello instructors.

My question is based on alcohol consumption.

I've noticed more and more whenever I drink alcohol to a level of tipsy drunk, the more susceptible I am to the inner torment of past pains etc.

When on the path, do we become more easily targeted by these states? Or is it just in my head.

Im not a big drinker day to day and will probably only have a drink once or twice a month. It's on the occasions of going out on a night out.. I can only have 2 or 3 drinks and either during or the next day I'm so anxious and lost in my mind.

Even as I write this Ive had a night of drinking at a house party, and so many past pains have come through, my anxiety is strong.

I've never had these issues with only a few drinks, up until this year when I found the beautiful teachings of gnosticism and started on the spiritual path.

Is this a lesson I must learn to comprehend why we shouldn't fall into drunkenness?

Any help would be amazing.

Thank you

Alcohol degenerates the mind, heart, and body. This is why it was forbidden by Prophet Muhammad amongst his disciples.

Samael Aun Weor also specified that the gnostic must not drink, smoke, or fornicate.

Knowing alcohol is destructive is one thing. But comprehending its destructive attributes is another.

The alcoholic knows alcohol is harmful, yet continues to drink anyway. Therefore, knowing alcohol is harmful does nothing.

The person who comprehends how alcohol is destructive to the spiritual work no longer drinks it, because one understands the need to keep one's temple (physical body) clean and suitable for the Being. This is comprehension.

Ok yes, I understand the importance of compression.

Does the destructive choices increase their power when we're on the path?

When you are comprehending and meditating on the egos of alcoholism, praying to your Divine Mother for assistance and elimination, they become smaller and weaker until they disintegrate into cosmic dust.

Ok. Yes I understand what you're saying. I guess I'm not describing what I'm trying to get at very well.

Does the resistance of the ego's increase when in the face of elimination.

Phrasing it in another way. When we become more awake to our ego's. Do we become more aware of their influence over us?

Yes, the resistance increases, yet if the defect is being deprived of its energy source, it will weaken and shrink. There is a very active dynamic at play, with no guaranteed outcome: it depends upon the quality of your psychological work.

Thank you Alexis for confirming that for me.

But Ms Litelantes was drinking wine (not zero alcoholic) during the meetings or conferences, this thing I heard from an old Spanish teacher in Gnosis who met her several times, although he is so Gnostic and his wife, this teacher told me he still doesn't know why she did so while she is a master!

Note: the teacher is Gnostic more than 30 years ago!

There's drinking and being drunk. Very different is it not?

Yes, But master Samael says in Pancatattva ritual

It is clearly evident that pure unfermented wine is used with success in the ritual of Pancatattva...

Does unfermented wine means very low % of alcohol or zero %?

In Islam even very little amount of alcohol is a sin even if there is no drunkenness effect.

In Quran Allah says:

"They ask you about wine and gambling. Say, "In them is great sin and [yet, some] benefit for people. But their sin is greater than their benefit." Al-Baqarah 219.

Some new age ideas say wine exclusively is spiritual drink and it is important for the soul to grow to drink like two glasses of wine every week, if that is right then I will feel relieved for smoking cigarettes :D

It is very naive to compare the actions of a master with our own. Not only are they under different rules (the first law, rather than the second law), they also are constantly working with students, which sometimes means they do things to tempt or even confuse the students. Litelantes is a very demanding master and did many surprising things to provoke her students. Sadly, few understood.
