Hello,

how do we know, that we have not restrained our lust, when it attacks us? Lets say for example we used some a prayer discussed it the course Defence for Spiritual Warfare combined with self-observation and relaxation, maybe after a while the ego returns again and we use again the same method. I restrained my lust in the past, which made it to return only stronger, so I don't want to repeat the same mistake. Maybe my mistake is to try to find a way aout of the "situation" without meditation, postponing the unavoidable, meaning the death of this ego or egos that keep returning. Thank you.

That is the problem. You cannot annihilate the ego without meditation.

Trying to pull out a tree without digging at the roots is impossible. Likewise with the ego. If you do not meditate, you cannot go deep enough to extract the ego at its roots.

There are levels upon levels of mind and comprehension. The transformation of impressions is a long work. Therefore, in order to eliminate, you need to meditate on what you observed.

Comprehension becomes more profound and the ego becomes slowly pulverized through successive works. Therefore, with patience possess ye your soul.
