I was reading a response that quoted Leviticus Chapter 15, in it was the sacrifice offering of birds. I had read a lecture that stated that a sacrifice was black magic. Exodus ch. 29 was used and was said to be written by the Black Lodge.
If you continue on to read Leviticus Chapter 16, this chapter speaks of sacrificing goats, a young bullock and rams. Then I read Leviticus Chapter 14, and that chapter is about the plague of leprosy and animal sacrifice. I think its all black magic. No animal or bird should be killed to save us from ourselves.

"We, Gnostics, are not in favor of animal sacrifices." - Samael Aun Weor

Originally, the "sacrifice of animals" symbolized the need to sacrifice our animal egos. Unfortunately, foolish people forgot the teachings and started sacrificing actual animals, instead of their egos. For example, "birds" relate to egos that use the intellect to "fly in the air."
