It has been said that the Sixth Commandment is "Thou Shalt not Fornicate". However, we don't find this is the case in modern translations of the Bible, at least.
In fact, I have not read these exact words or this commandment anywhere in the Bible. As a student of several years, I understand the commandment and in no way am I trying to refute it or make excuses for it. I also understand clearly that there are many places in the Bible where fornication is condemned. But for scholarly reasons, where in the Bible is this exact verse indicated, or what is the source of this "Sixth Commandment" as we study it? Is it perhaps an "original" commandment, different than the decalogue we know today?

Because Bible scholars are not initiates into the secret doctrine, the word נאף na'aph has mistakenly been translated merely as adultery, but the real meaning is literally "To perform voluntary violation of the marriage bed." I understand. Thank you very much. I was confused because different sections in Christianity give the 10 commandments in different orders and numbers.
That is because they ignore Kabbalah. Each commandment corresponds to a sephirah on the Tree of Life.
