Cure for alcoholism

My son is an alcoholic who often after drinking heavily becomes violent.
This has led to him being imprisoned on several occasions and at present he is in prison.

My son was raped by a pedophile when he was 10 years old and i believe this has been the root of his problem for the last 20 years.
I have tried to go down the conventional root of getting him counselling, but he refuses to go as i feel he does not want to face up to what has happened to him.
Instead he drowns his sorrows in alcohol.

I feel that if he was cured of his alcoholism and sober, then he may find it easier to get to the root cause of his problems and talk about it and deal with it.

An observation i have made when he's drunk, is that he is literally like another person, and i have wondered if at that time he is posessed by demonic entities.
Is this the case ?

I read in Samael Aun Weor's book "Esoteric medicine and practical magic" that alcoholism can be cured by eating a fried owls egg.
Please forgive my ignorance but this makes no sense to me and i fail to understand exactly how this would work ?

I have also struggled to understand why this has happened to my son, or anyone else for that matter.
When something like this happens to someone, is it karmic, or is it just by chance ?
