I've given up using drugs for quite some time before i became curious about the Gnostic teachings, so i have my own reasons for not doing them. I don't really understand the reasons the Gnostic community is apposed to them and i never really cared(i don't do drugs). but something has been pulling at my mind lately. about a year ago my brother started having seizures and was recently diagnosed with epilepsy. i'm sure you(who ever answers this) is aware that CBD(Cannabidiol) oil is a non psychoactive compound within cannabis. I've been giving my brother this stuff and he hasn't had any episodes since he started using it.

as i said before i don't completely know the issue with plants that have a stigma in the Gnostic community like cannabis but i see the health benefits, which has me perplexed as to what the problem samael had with it. which brings me to my first question

1. is the consciousness altering(Psychoactive) aspect of cannabis the issue?
i can understand if someone was on the path to expand there perception of the nature of consciousness that you shouldn't alter it.

2.On a physical level, In the case that this compound CBD which is non psychoactive and has been shown to have a myriad of health benefits minus the HIGH is there still harm in this because it comes from the cannabis plant?

3.I can't find the post to site it but, i came across a question about Cannabis and the instructor mention something about burning the cannabis and how it alters the structure of the compounds within the plant and how smoking it is harmful. this i know because THC is THCa Before its burned, so the structure is changed. but CBD is taken orally or sublingually not smoked, so the integrity of the compounds are still the same. So is the consumption of THIS part of this plant, without getting high and strictly using it for REAL medicinal purposes still wrong in the eyes of the Gnostic community?

4. what is the whole talk about elementals? are they spirits attached to elements in nature? are they harmful beings? and are they in the astrals?

after reading this i kind of raised an eyebrow seeing how I've never been conscious in the astrals (still a bit skeptical) so all that stuff is still a bit hard to believe let alone understand. i'm open minded to the belief though, which is why I've been trying to achieve that experience of AP. to be honest alot the teachings here are great but i do have specific things i want to accomplish before i get into alot of the other teachings on this site. AP, proper meditation, and the whole being conscious of yourself all day thing being the main three i'm trying to achieve. as far as i know it seems these three would benefit me the most seeing how a good number of the rituals and practices are done in the internal worlds and during the waking state i'm an idiot. And i want to say i'm not trying to justify the consumption of psychoactive substances for recreation which i find is the main gripe that many spiritual traditions have with this kind of thing ,which is understandable considering the nature of the work there doing. Now im not in touch with any of the other aspects of the cannabis plant that Samael seen but if this aspect of cannabis(CBD) helped people like my brother with a condition that nearly made it impossible for him to have a normal life than i don't see the harm in that.

If you study Esoteric Medicine and Practical Magic, you will find that many presumed impure or even poisonous sources can provide medicine. This is evidence that the genuine gnostic approach is not fundamentalist, shallow-minded, or judgmental, but rather seeks to use what is useful while discarding what is not. Any element in nature can be used for benefit or for harm. However, humanity has no idea how to discriminate between them, since humanity is dominated by desires, hypnotized by whatever appears to produce blissful sensations, and oblivious to the harm that results from their mistaken actions.

Elementals are simply the intelligence in living things. When you look into the eyes of an animal, the elemental is gazing back at you. If you study the mentioned book, it will explain.

“Nothing is easier than self-deceit. For what each man wishes, that he also believes.” —Demosthenes
