Jesus of Nazareth heals in many stories, especially the blind. Mark 8:22 details an occurrence outside Bethesda in which Jesus first spits on his hands, then asks the man whether or not he can see. The man replies, "I see men as trees, walking." Afterward, the Christ fully restores his vision.

What is the meaning of the man's reply?

And Jehovah Elohim (Binah, the Holy Spirit) planted a garden eastward in Eden; and there he put Adam whom he had formed. Therefore, out of the ground (Eden) made Jehovah Elohim (Binah, the Holy Spirit) to grow every tree (physical body) that is pleasant to the sight (in their youth), and good for food (for the spirit, by means of sexual alchemy); the tree of life (spinal medulla) also in the midst of the garden (their physicality), and the tree of knowledge of good and evil (their sexuality). - Genesis 2: 7, 8

Bring forth therefore fruits worthy of repentance, and begin not to say within yourselves, We have Abraham to our father: for I say unto you, That God is able of these stones to raise up children unto Abraham.
And now also the axe is laid unto the root (Yesod-sex) of the trees: every tree therefore which brings not forth good fruit is hewn down, and cast into the fire. - Luke 3: 8, 9

Weep not: behold, the Lion of the tribe of Judah,
the Root of David, has prevailed to open the book,
and to loose the seven seals thereof. - Revelation 5: 5

Eyes in Hebrew is עיניים ayinim, which carries the letter ע ayin.

דַעַת Da'ath, knowledge, is spelled with ע ayin, the Kabbalistic letter signifying "perception."

Therefore, the sacred, alchemical knowledge, דַעַת, is the work with spiritual perception, spiritual insight, which is opened in us when we work with the tree of knowledge, whose roots are in Yesod-sex.
And not equal are the blind and the seeing, nor are those who believe and do righteous deeds and the evildoer. Little do you remember. -Quran 40:58
The Qur'an often speaks about the blindness of the heart, or how people who don't practice gnosis are unbelievers.

It is through the perception and quality of our mind, heart, and sex that we are judged. Only divinity can heal our spiritual eyes from the ignorance and blindness of the ego.

For thirty years I sought God. But when I looked carefully I found that in reality God was the seeker and I the sought. -Bayazid al-Bastami
