To create a manifestation of an idea, to my understanding is done this way: One wills (and thus causes) the mental frequency of a certain event, action or phenomenon. Such vibration immediately resonates into the lower octaves of emotional frequencies which on their part put energy into motion. If the frequency remains stable over a certain period of time, then the very low undertones of physical appearance come into existence. The effect is now created, the event happens – which means nothing else than the fact that our low-frequency tuned physical senses can now perceive those vibrations, too.

Said this, it is clear why it has been stated that AS ABOVE SO BELOW. Everything in the universe is energy.

Now my question: In the physical realm light eliminates darkness. When we light a lamp in a dark room, the room is immediately filled with light. Darkness disappears. Light always overpowers darkness. On the other hand, darkness is never able to quench light.

If so, why is it that in the internal worlds – which are nothing else than another frequency of ourselves – light can be obscured by darkness? Someone may have gained some light and insight but all the sudden something happens that quenches that light and throws one into darkness. Why does this happen? How can it happen at all?

Comprehension also emerges through directing conscious attention into the depths of the myself, the itself. When we identify with egotistical wills, desires, we direct our energies into those defects and therefore fall or remain asleep.

Development is gradual.
Impatience

As a rule, those who have recently entered Gnosis are full of impatience; they want immediate phenomenal manifestations, instantaneous Astral projections, illumination, wisdom, etc.
The reality is another thing. Nothing is given to us for free. Everything has its price. Nothing is attained through curiosity, instantaneously, rapidly. Everything has its process and its development. Kundalini develops, evolves and progresses very slowly within the aura of the Maha-Chohan. Kundalini has the power of awakening the Consciousness. Nevertheless, the process of awakening is slow, gradual, natural, without spectacular, sensational, emotional, and barbaric events. When the Consciousness becomes completely awakened, it is not something sensational, or spectacular. It is simply a reality, as natural as a tree that grows slowly, unfolds and develops without sudden leaps or sensational events. Nature is Nature. The Gnostic student in the beginning says, “I am dreaming.” Later he exclaims, “I am in the Astral body, outside the physical body.” Later still, he obtains Samadhi, ecstasy, and enters the Fields of Paradise. In the beginning, the manifestations are sporadic, discontinuous, followed by long periods of unconsciousness. Much later, the igneous wings give us continuous uninterrupted awakened Consciousness.

In order to answer your question, we must ask you a question. What do you mean by light and darkness in the astral plane?

Not just in the astral plane, also mental, causal, vital planes …

LIGHT: lucidity, clarity of vision in meditation, happiness, joy, peace, a goal in mind, confidence, hope, willpower, high energy, strength, motivation

DARKNESS: no internal vision, distress, despair, tremendous sadness, depression, hopelessness, no will, no energy, no aim, no sense in life, mental power feels robbed, empty feeling, fear, giving up, wishing to die

Clearly such a fall into darkness has a reason and cause. I am not asking why it happens. I want to know how it is possible at all that our internal light be extinguished by darkness.

"Wherever we direct attention, we expend creative energy." -Samael Aun Weor

Meditate on this phrase!

Joyful in hope, suffering in tribulation, be thou constant in thy prayer.

Benedictis, qui venit in nomine Domini. Osanna in excelsis.

"Blessed is he who comes in the name of the Lord. Hosanna in the highest!"

I did. It seems that light can be obstructed yet not extinguished. It can be deflected yet not disappear. It can be transformed. If we concentrate on something hurtful that has been experienced recently, all light goes there and we are left in darkness. If we think it gets extinguished it has simply been transformed into something else, another form of energy. Matter is another form of light, a very dense one, although not the densest. It obstructs light even though it is inherently light in itself. Ego is a form of light distorted. It filters and obscures light although it too is inherently light in itself.

All is subject to frequency and how we are tuned. As we experience light and darkness and it seems that every seeker on the path goes through tremendous periods of darkness I suppose that this is the law of nature. To make the life experience complete it is not enough to only see the light. One has to know darkness in order to recognize the light.

Is this where you were pointing to?

Understand what you say. Although that was not the case. Rather it became impossible to direct consciousness at all. Certain egos had died, what remained was nothing. I was nothing. All I was able to rely on was the Kali Mula Mantra to carry me over the sea of darkness. At the same time I didn't even know whom to carry, as everything I thought I had been was gone. Over a process of months She freed me from darkness, so I became happy again. Now I want to understand why it happened and how it even could.

Not sure if I am able to express it at all. Maybe only the Self understands its experiences made through the human soul.
