Hello

I had a dream last night were there was this black magician who was saying to someone that himself and that person who he was adressing, who is also a black magician, we are superior to him, adressing myself.

I wasnt insulted by this but reflected on it today. I remember listening to the lecture on the elements of spiritual growth were the lecturer talked about real spirituality as opposed to self empowerment. he said that people in spirituality think that religion spirituality is about themselves. what it seems in most of these new age circles is that people want self empowerment, want more self esteem, more evolution in an egotistical sense but not advancement of the spirit but advancement of the <a href="/faqs/psychology/1761-what-is-ego.html" title="In spiritual tradition, "ego" refers to psychological defects" target="_parent" >ego</a>.

Samael Aun Weor says that Black magicians develop a sort of backward logic. so is there logic on evolution and devolution backwards as well. They must feel that by strengthening the <a href="/faqs/psychology/1761-what-is-ego.html" title="In spiritual tradition, "ego" refers to psychological defects" target="_parent" >ego</a> this is evolution when in reality it is devolution. They also then in turn most feel that people who are dying within themselves and liberating themselves from conditiong and suffering are somehow devolving, which is also not true.

So do these people feel themselves to be somewhat superior than people in spiritual work and also people who arent into spiritual work or black magic.

Thanks
Yes of course. We who study Gnosis feel superior to others who do not, and we feel that way because we are filled with egos of pride and vanity. The same is true for those who study any religion or mysticism, or science, etc. Until the ego is completely destroyed and we are born again in purity, we are all black magicians of one degree or another.
