I have been working very hard during the day to remember myself but I have not been successful in waking in my dream state.

There are devices which will help you recognize the REM state with blinking lights at voice prompts. I am very tempted to try this.

"We have been wisely told that we have ninety-seven percent of subconsciousness and three percent of Consciousness.

Plainly and bluntly speaking, we shall state that ninety-seven percent of the Essence that we carry within ourselves is bottled up, stuffed, inserted within each one of the “I’s,” which in their conjunction constitute the “myself.”

Obviously, the Essence, or Consciousness, bottled up within each “I,” processes itself in accordance to its condition.

A determined percentage of Consciousness is liberated when any “I” is disintegrated. Hence, the emancipation or liberation of the Essence or Consciousness without the disintegration of each “I” is impossible.

The greater the quantity of disintegrated “I’s,” the greater the degree of Self-cognizance. The lesser the quantity of disintegrated “I’s,” the lesser the percentage of awakened Consciousness.

Therefore, the awakening of Consciousness is only possible by dissolving the “I,” by dying in oneself, here and now.

Unquestionably, as long as the Essence or Consciousness continues bottled up within each one of the “I’s” that we carry within our interior, it will always be asleep, in a subconscious state.

It is urgent to transform the subconsciousness into Consciousness. This is only possible by annihilating the “I’s,” by dying within ourselves.

So, it is impossible to awaken without first having died within ourselves.

Those who try to awaken first and then die do not possess a real experience of what they affirm. They advance resolutely on the path of error" - Samael Aun Weor

I wouldn't recommend using such devices.

There are so many techniques and mantras given throughout the works of Samael Aun Weor for achieving astral projection and lucid dreaming. It takes some experimentation to find what works and resonates with you best. When you chose a technique or mantra to work with, practice consistently.

The more you work with and awaken your consciousness during the day, the more likely you are to do so during the hours of sleep.

The Master gives the technique of S.O.L. for achieving lucid dreaming. See the reference below.

Only impersonal life and the Being can give us the legitimate happiness of the Great Life free in its motion. -Samael Aun Weor

That's what I thought you would say.

I have just worked so hard and cannot seem to get anywhere.

I have no choice but to forge forward, but I have not had any kind of real experiential knowledge that would impel me to continue the effort.

It's mainly for fear of despair and want of any better answer that I continue on this path...

Thanks for your help.

It is impossible to be awakened in the superior worlds if here in this cellular, physical, material world the aspirant is asleep. Whosoever wants to awaken their consciousness in the internal worlds must awaken here and now in this dense world.

If the consciousness of the aspirant has not awakened here, in this physical world, much less it is awakened in the superior worlds.

Whosoever awakens their consciousness here and now awakens everywhere. Whosoever awakens their consciousness here in this physical world, in fact and by their own right become awakened in the superior worlds.

Refine your self-awareness continually, and astral projection will no longer be a problem. That is, rather than having your spiritual focus be on your experience of the internal worlds, put your focus on how you are, and who you are, here and now.

I realize this sounds silly to argue with you.

I just know that in everything which is said I have attempted to do 'super efforts' consistently. I strive to be 'awake here and now', to 'remember my being', to record my dreams, say mantras before sleep, go to sleep in the lions position, save my energy, etc etc. It just becomes to seem futile after toiling away and seeing no progress that would approach 'gnosis'.

I had a vasectomy for one year, and had it surgically reversed. I know what is said about 'destroying the hermetic glass'. I just have hoped and prayed that somehow my surgical reversal could restore me to some kind of normal.

Could this be part of the explanation for my failures?
