Peace,

I have memorized half of the prayer, but I would like to know exactly who/what energies I am invoking. I recognize a few of the names which are in Latin, as well as the Apostles of Jesus. However, there are a few other words that I am unclear about. Is it possible to find out the meaning/translation of the prayer? Are some of the words names of Angels? If so, which ones are they and what are they known for?

It seems that some of the prayers are quite powerful. For example the Conjugation of Solomon. I don't feel that I am at a level of understanding where I can recite this and know what the affects are. That being said, is something like this taught/explained at a certain level of knowledge and or understanding?

I am drawn to the prayers that I resonate/feel/understand and I guess that is because there are a few that I am familiar with from child-hood like the Apostles Creed, Pater Noster (The Our Father). While I never knew or heard of the prayer of St. Francis, I really like reading it, it's very tranquil, soothing and heart-felt.

* I am grateful for the selection of prayers and invocations in the book. They speak to many voices.

We have added the translation of the prayer to the website at the link below.

The prayer means:

MEANING OF THE FONS ALPHA PRAYER

"Fountain of the beginning and the ending, in the womb, the gestated host of God is with us; oh Lord, oppress the arrogant, come and go and defend me, reject pains from the impious, fasten, consume them, you are strong forever, oh Lord. Lo and behold Matthew, Mark, Luke, John, triumphant names, these are in the sign of the cross of Jesus of Nazareth, king of the Jews; run away hostile powers: the conqueror lion of the tribe of Judah, the stem of David has prevailed, praise Jah, the victorious lord, the victorious Christ, our father, hail Mary, and now, oh master of superior mercy, let us pay respect to what is thine, let us pray."

Is there any difference between prayers recited in Latin as oppose to other languages? Would someone whose mother language was Arabic, or French for example, would they need to learn these prayers in Latin to be effective?

I often wonder about language as it relates to Gods, Angels and such... since we are all from different backgrounds, cultures etc:)
