I would just like to start by mentioning how welcoming of an environment the retreat was. It definitely put me at ease, especially because I had no idea what to expect prior to arriving. Everyone was very friendly, approachable and helpful. I believe there were about 59 students all together.

Since I left, I've been thinking about the voice of one of the instructors in my head, he lead the morning prayers and Runes. It showed me how those practices should be approached and done, what the attitude/spirit should be. He recited the prayers with such power and strength. I'm sure those who were there know what I'm talking about, and if you're an avid listener of the podcasts you've probably heard him and I'm sure you can imagine as well. These were practices I never really tried wholeheartedly before, or if I did- didn't really know what I was doing, had uncertainties, doubts, etc. The more we did them, after they were over I'd think to myself “Wow, that was pretty powerful.”

I didn't actually realize how much second guessing I was doing prior to going on the retreat, it may have been some sort of excuse for me not to do the work. I absolutely loved the way the meditation practices were structured. From day to day, it seems they all related to and built upon each other. There were 3 periods of the day devoted strictly to meditation exercises. The early morning session started to become more about dream recall and the night session- retrospection. The mid-morning sessions were related to practices to improve visualization, concentration and quieting the mind. They really did show me by practicing them what my obstacles were and which practices would be the most useful to overcome them. I appreciate the suggestions that were made- what to focus on, look for, how important it is to be mindful throughout the day. Certain sessions had about 3 different practices within a 90 minute - 2 hour period. There were short beaks provided and questions were answered at the end to help clarify what was taught and make sense of the experience.

We had one lecture and then for the rest of the time there were Q & A sessions in the afternoon before dinner. It was like being on the forum, but in person. They were unbelievable to listen to, even if you didn't ask a question. One time I remember walking out thinking something like “What just happened?” I mean that in the best way possible.

Toward the last 2 days, I felt this overwhelming gratitude and still do. Before this retreat, I didn't know a soul who was aware of Glorian, Gnosis or Samael Aun Weor. I met so many wonderful people and had some great conservations. I'm truly thankful for everyone that I interacted with. The instructors showed us by example how and why we should take this work seriously, but at the same time, how to be lighthearted and still have a sense of humor. If you have the inclination to do a retreat and you have the means, I highly doubt you would ever regret it. There were students who came from Russia, Lithuania and across the country. It really is something to experience, the energy of it just seems to build without you even realizing it. I think everyone was pretty blown away and truly thankful at the end.

I'm definitely am experiencing a new enthusiasm for this work. I don't seem to have as many expectations and I'm not as focused on getting any type of grandiose results or experiences. It's like I'm doing it because I like doing it, it doesn't feel like a chore anymore. I believe this has been said many times, on this site and others, that in the same way you have to dedicate so much work, practice and study in order to learn how to play an instrument, a sport, carve wood or whatever- it's the same with this type of training.

I would also like write that it didn't go without noticing that the first meditation we did was a reflection on suffering and it was the last one we did as well. I don't think I'll ever forget praying and chanting “May all beings be happy, may all beings by joyful...” together at the end, all standing in circle holding hands, led by that same instructors voice. It was truly powerful and a perfect way to end the retreat. I found this to put things in perspective, of why these practices are so important.

Shout out to all the distance learning instructors for all your support throughout the retreat.

Many heartfelt thanks to everyone at Glorian, all the participants and hosts. Thank you for your kindness, support and guidance.
