Because I need to improve my skills in a certain language, I decided to read at least something that would benefit my soul, so what could this be? Some ideas are: Shakespeare, Homer, Dostoevsky-The Brothers Karamazov, the Mahabharata, mythology. The language I need to improve is German, so I thought of Faust by Goethe, but the author doesn't necessary need to be German, the most classic works are translated in many languages.
If you see my previous post, I am trying to achieve meditation and I was advised to avoid reading other scriptures, so that I remain focused on my goal. Is there literature that will not distract me? Thank you.

How about The Aeneid, commented upon in Magic of the Runes? (I recommend the translation by Robert Fagles) :D

Is there any other literature that has something to do with Gnosis or Spirituality, Science, Religion, ? The Aeneid was very interesting, can someone please reccomend a book, an author? (Of course music, art, etc. which is spiritual is also welcome, but reading would help me improve my language skills)
