Since the inception of most egos must have taken place in a distant past, is it possible to grasp the very root of an ego and completely eradicate it if one does not possess the ability to remember past lives?

There are little fish and big fish, shallow waters and profound waters. Obviously, the deeper you dive, the more you can catch! But that doesn't mean you can't fish from where you're at.

How do we know which egos are from past life and which are from this life? How do we differentiate?
