From what I understand, the consciousness is asleep because it is being hypnotized and used by many different egos. As such, a sleeping consciousness is a function of the ego(s)-correct me if I'm wrong.

if so..
-Is awakening the consciousness a function of getting rid of the egos?
-If awakening the consciousness is a function of getting rid of the ego, and one awakens some of his consciousness while still having some ego(s) present, does that not mean that one has fallen into black magic.

if not..
-Is awakening of the consciousness instead a function of being absolutely present in the moment and aware of your thoughts and being able to 'consciously' direct them?

It would appear that the my second postulation is more accurate and as such, I would like a bit more clarification. Are there any resources on this subject you recommend? Thank you
Demons have awakened consciousness too. In their case, the consciousness is trapped in defects, but does not realize it.

"We see through a glass darkly...."

This is explained in The Perfect Matrimony and The Revolution of Beelzebub.

It is easy to awaken consciousness. However, that alone is not enough for liberation.
