My wife and I work with autistic children. There is one child who is fascinated with Greek mythology. His parents are asking for recommendations on books for him. I am concerned a bit because I do not know if they are open minded or Christians who deem the mysteries heretic... The law of attraction did not drop this in my lap by accident anyway.. His parents state he is not satisfied with what is being taught in Sunday school and sees right through the cartoon-like stories. Any suggestions for this 10 year old ? His parents requested "christian mythology"... I already thought of cross pollinating the consequences of selfishness from the Narcissus myth with "love thy neighbor and thy god". This child knows mythology forward and backward. Thanks in advance
How about this to start? These are middle school texts, just so you know, yet the lexile (reading) levels might be more appropriate for the person you're trying to help.
