Hello instructors!
I have just come across the Gurdjieff term Askokin and there seems to be something confusing about it for me.
"Because as you know, those rituals release Askokin into the atmosphere and this is how the forces of nature (through Black Magic) feed themselves because the planet is alive. So this dervish or the dervishes pronounced themselves against that (Black Magic) and finally many rituals or sacrifices of (Black Magic) animals were suspended in the world. But people continued with the same violence, fornication, Adultery, and destruction. Then nature needed Askokin and since it was not receiving it through rituals (because they were suspended,) a great holocaust or the First World War occurred in which nature took by force that which was denied to it through these (Black Magic) holocausts, soon after, the Second World War occurred."
This is interesting, but I am confused about one thing. Askokin is energy, and can be released through various means (breathing, eating, drinking, sacrificing ego, sacrificing animals, etc), if the Askokin is released through black magic does that change the nature of the Askokin and feed only negative forces? It seems from reading about it on Gnostic Teachings that if you released Askokin positively or negatively, it feeds the gods either way, but do the gods not eat only that which is pure?
So the planet needs Askokin, and I guess this is so that it can survive with its vital body, but we squander our Askokin through expelling it through fornication and other means, does this mean that the planet does not receive any Askokin from the spilling of the seed, or from the destruction and waste of the seed? Or is this negative Askokin? Is not blood sacrifice a waste of Askokin? Or is Askokin above the law in this respect, that it is in the use of the Askokin which determines the karmic consequence that may result from the misuse? Can Askokin only be released through ritual?

The mechanism of nature requires a balancing of energy, and the sacrifices referred to served that purpose. However, every use of energy generates effects for the one who directs it, and for our sake it is much more beneficial to sacrifice ego to balance the energies in nature.

The mechanism of nature requires a balancing of energy, and the sacrifices referred to served that purpose. However, every use of energy generates effects for the one who directs it, and for our sake it is much more beneficial to sacrifice ego to balance the energies in nature.
