Is there any books that the Gnostic tradition would recommend, and what versions?
Being there are so many translations of the Bible....most have taken out all of the teachings of LIGHT...but some, i'd assume are the better versions to work with.
most likely the same with the Gita, I Ching, Odyessey, etc...

well, those books, of course!! But I meant the most accurate version of the Bible, etc...
With any scripture, it is best to know the original language or to have some working knowledge of the scripture's Kabbalistic alphabet, such as Hebrew or Arabic for the Tanakh or Qur'an.
If you are studying the Bible, find a text that has both English and Hebrew / Greek for the Old and New Testaments. For the Qur'an, find a book that has the Arabic alongside the English.
When you know Kabbalah, it is easy to interpret the meaning of the original scriptures in their root languages.
To find a version of the Bible that has all the nuances of the Hebrew and Greek explained is impossible: such a book does not exist. Therefore, you must do the searching on your own, and meditation on what you study.
I personally enjoy the Bhagavad-Gita translated and commented by Swami Sivananda. Also, Robert Fagles version of The Odyssey is excellent. For the Qur'an, the Arabic and English translation of Abdullah Yusuf Ali is superb.
