Occasionally when practicing the Ham-Sah pranayama and also during meditation, I have a clear sensation that energies are moving in my body. I feel these sensations most obviously in the lower abdominal region and the lower spine but occasionally feel them also in higher parts of the body.

Are sensations of this type a reliable indication of correct or incorrect practice?

Is there any clear, reliable indicator of correct or incorrect pranayama practice?
Physical sensations are not reliable indicators of anything at all!

We should evaluate our pranayama by the effect on our psyche.

Pranayama should help us relax, especially psychologically.

Furthermore, pranayama should strengthen our ability to self-observe.

In short, pranayama should be helping our consciousness. Are we becoming more aware? More patient? More chaste? More serene? Less irritable, demanding, dissatisfied?

That cannot be measured by physical sensations.
